Are Chinese cars ever going to be better than the German ones?
So, Chinese cars.
When people talk about China, first things to come into your mind are The Great wall of China, good food, bad quality toys and fakes (fake clothing). And also, bad cars.
However, we might be wrong about those cars. We still think that their cars are total sh*t, with a design made by a photocopier. But it has changed by the time we thought Chinese cars would never be good.
Chinese car market has grown hyper-fast. By the years, Chinese car market has become the biggest one and the fastest growing one. It has had a 40% increase compared to couple of years back. 40%! That is just pure insane. And it's not only the market which is getting more bigger, ambitious and overall good.
The quality of the cars has increased from cars which lasted 3 hours to the level of let's say - Chevys. According to studies, in year 2020 every person in UK will own 2 Chinese cars. You can really see the growth. However, that still doesn't answer my question.
Will the Chinese cars reach the level of quality and technology of Germans?
You see, it's impossible to know since the Chinese cars are getting better so fast. But not every brand is catching up with the technology refresh and quality/safety controls - still many Chinese cars have problems with bad quality and fire risks. So that is one fact that makes me doubt. Another one is, that I am not sure if they can beat the Germans in this criteria - making cars. They have always been a symbol and a example of top-quality cars with top-end performance and quality.
You see, according to my knowledge, none of the German cars today have problems with fire or have low safety OR have bad crash test results. But we have to see about that after some years. Let's not forget, China is getting better at technology day by day.
